Welcome to Easyrams - home of the UK's only pure New Zealand Suffolks, plus New Zealand Suf-Tex which will arrive from NZ in June 2011. At the heart of the philosophy is that all New Zealand Suffolks orginate from the UK with imports going under until 1952.
For the past 60 years NZ sheep farmers selected for ease of management and ability to grow off an all grass diet. The removal of all subsidies some 25 years ago intensified the selection processes. It is with regret that the proof of their success sat on UK supermarket shelves bringing the coals back to Newcastle.
As UK farming has changed over the past 20 years and most specifically post FMD we have searched for a sheep that is less intensive on labour and grows off grass. The answer was to swallow pride and use our southern hemisphere colleague's past half century's recording and unrelenting culling, only selecting for traits requiring less labour and its associated costs, plus growing off a forage based system.
Our commercially focused customers are satisfying both the supermarket demands and their own aspirations for more profit with less labour. We look forward to hearing from you and would love to show you the real thing,
