History
EasyRams was established in summer 2006 with the purchase from New Zealand of 60 frozen NZ Suffolk embryos. These were implanted in the autumn with the result that 30 lambs were born in the spring of 2007. These embryos were all purchased from Bruce Rapleys Goldstream flock which has a history of producing not only high value stud sheep but, more significantly, sheep with very high performance figures on the Suffolk analysis within SIL.
Further embryos were purchased from Goldstream in 2007 and from two unrelated flocks in 2008 since which time changes to the EU import protocols have stopped further embryo or semen imports from NZ taking place.
